These Latino’s are influencer’s in the Social Media space. They are software developers, entrepreneur’s, social success coaches, social media specialists and published author’s. It is clear that LATISM has attracted some of the best and brightest Hispanics in Social Media.

LATISM has had three conferences this year. The latest conference took place in DC. It was a two-day event that took place December 11 – 12. LATISM DC was manged by Kety Esquivel and it was a smashing success. Yesterday, Kety sends out a message to all LATISM members; which I am one of – LATISM NY Chapter. I was so proud of her accomplishments I wanted to express my admiration the best way I know how – Social Media.

Thank you for all of your support! Thanks to your help LatISM DC was a tremendous success. Over the course of the two day conference we had nearly 100 people participate in sixteen different sessions. We had phenomenal speakers, yoga, mariachi, a DJ, a professional networking event and even a dance party with a live salsa band.
At the conference social media newbies were introduced to Social Media 101. They were able to apply those concepts in Social Media (SM) 101 applied with a hands on training with lap tops where they opened up various SM accounts. Those already well versed in SM were able to participate in panels of brand building and the social good. We also had sessions focused on the mobile opportunity, building a social media plan, as well as our first unconference session focused on the digital divide. We had a live twitter session, a session on Media 2.0 and an unconference session about finding ones tribe. Finally, we closed the conference on Saturday with a conversation about the intersection of social media and policy.
None of this would have been possible without your support or the support of the LatISM DC sponsors: NCLR (National Council of La Raza), Comcast, AT&T, Broadband for America, O’Reilly Media, Media Matters, HTTP, Innovation Generation, NextGen Web, AL DIA, New Organizing Institute, Premier Social Media and EchoDitto. Thank you too to our partners, Netroots Nation and SC Designs.
Please help us grow and support LatISM.
